Feliz Navidad amigos! Kaffeologie is into the spirit of giving, and we want to send out some ideas for those of you who are stumped with what to give that coffee (or any hot beverage) lover in your life. We'll be featuring a variety of gift ideas to accommodate every recipient and their giver's budget. (Have a suggestion? We'd love to hear about it in the comments.) And as always, one of the best gifts you can give your favorite coffee-lover is an upgrade to the coffee routine with the AeroPress and S Filter.
A food-grade thermometer
Those who love perfectly-brewed coffee
At first glance, a thermometer seems like an odd thing to add to your brewing process. Most people heat the water until it boils and then pour it in. You stop that! You stop that right now! We are not barbarians!
All passive-agressive kidding aside, water temperature is just one more key factor to producing a quality brew. Adding boiling water to coffee actually burns the grounds, producing that bitter flavor that old-timer cowboy books rave about. Most people, not being old-timer cowboys, prefer coffee without that burn taste, and thus enters the thermometer. A thermometer's size and versatility make it an ideal stocking stuffer for your coffee fiend. (And the average thermometer's price makes it ideal for your budget!)
