Can the AeroPress save this cup of tea?

It smells so good!

Over the weekend I received some yummy loose leaf teas. I was super excited to sample them and got out my cutest teapot when I realized that I had no way to keep the leaves out of my cup after brewing.  "No worries," I thought, "I'll use my smallest food strainer."

Like so...

It did not work as hoped.

Floaties.  I hate floaties.

The strainer I used certainly wasn't a tea strainer, but the leaves and mix were much bigger than the holes. It did okay, but more leaves and bits got through then I wanted.

Suddenly I remembered that I had a brand new AeroPress and S Filter combo that I had yet to add to the coffee rotation. The S Filter is awesome at catching coffee fines (not to toot our own horn), so I figured I would give it a shot.

I poured the tea back into the pot and then decanted it through the S Filter/AeroPress combo.

So far, so good.

Success!   No floaties!

Floaty free is the way to be!

I have a feeling that I will be exploring brewing my tea directly in my AeroPress in the near future.
